Chantilly cream made its name during the Age of Enlightenment. Its birthplace was the Hameau and the Prince de Condé's dairy, which enjoyed great renown throughout Europe.

The dairy was an exceptional place, located near the Vineuil menagerie, on the Senlis road. Access was via a beautiful courtyard surrounded by chestnut trees, and the main building was a rather magical place, all marble, housing the basins for beating butter and the porcelain vases filled with cream.

During the French Revolution, the Château's dairy was destroyed. In the 19th century, the Duc d'Aumale had the hamlet restored, and it is now part of the grounds of the Château de Chantilly.

Calling all gourmets and lovers of culinary traditions! The town of Chantilly invites you to discover the secrets of the mythical crème chantilly thanks to workshops organized by the Confrérie des Chevaliers Fouetteurs. These enthusiasts will teach you how to make genuine whipped cream by hand, a unique experience that will delight young and old alike.

Workshop procedures

Workshops are held daily at 2pm and last one hour. Each session welcomes up to 22 participants, aged 7 and over. The necessary materials are provided by the Confrérie, including an apron and disposable cap for each child. Gourmets wishing to take their delicious creation home with them are invited to bring an insulated bag.

• Teenagers (7-25 years): 11€ (Minors must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the course)
